Christopher Bolton (dude on the left)

Christopher Bolton is an actor, writer and television producer in Toronto, Canada. He began acting in his teens and has appeared in feature films, including Global Heresy and Killing Moon, as well as the Showtime television movies Hendrix and Our Fathers and appears frequently in television series. Bolton earned a Gemini nomination for his guest-starring role as 'Joey Williams' on the award-winning series Cold Squad. He is presently co-producing, writing and starring in the hit series Rent-A-Goalie for Showcase.

Christopher’s introduction to cycling was the 2001 Tour de France and ever since he’s been a die-hard fan of the sport. Doing the Tour for Kids with former RAAM competitor Kevin Wallace turned Christopher’s attention away from road racing towards ultra-endurance. This is Christopher’s first RAAM.

Sam Babe (dude on the right)

Sam is a Toronto lawyer at Aird & Berlis LLP with a strong passion for competitive endurance sports and volunteerism - a passion fuelled by his personal experience with cancer. Originally a distance runner with Ontario championships and All-Canadian honours to his credit, Sam rebounded from three years of treatment for leukemia to compete as an elite duathlete (run-bike-run), becoming Canadian champion and a national team member in 2003. He currently balances his work-schedule with road cycling and cyclocross racing as a founding member of Open Access/GRG Road Racing, a masters cycling team.

Sam has also given much of his time to volunteer at Sick Kids and as a counsellor at Camp Oochigeas, were he has spent one or two weeks for a total of seven summers working closely with children who are living with cancer and its consequences. Sam and Christopher met on the Tour for Kids in 2006, and Sam would never have attempted something as crazy as RAAM if not for Christopher's mad genius.
